![]() balls work on anything, so why take the risk? I mean, yeah, sometimes the Silph balls are like, WAY less effective than an Apricorn ball would be, but. And, well, that's sort of a detriment if you don't know exactly what kind of Pokémon you're going to encounter. Some balls would be better at catching some Pokémon, and some would do better against others. It's not that they didn't work, they work great! It's just that, well. But I think more than that, it's the fact that Apricorn balls were sort of. I think the ones Silph produces are cheaper than maintaining an Apricorn bush (They're REALLY fragile and you can't pick more than one Apricorn per day), and can be made much faster. I don't know why people stopped using them. When fitted with a special device, Apricorn fruit could be used as a power source, one suitable to create a primitive capture net, and hold Pokémon in stasis in energy form.
